WGO exists to do three things well.
1. To serve and reach the poor for Christ.
2. To provide care for displaced or abandoned children.
3. To provide opportunities for the North American Church to experience the joy that comes through serving.
Our family is doing this by serving at Rancho Ebenezer in Honduras. This children's home provides an oasis from the hardship these children have faced. The goal of this organization is to raise children to be Christ centered adults, who will be able to impact there country for Christ. Children are raise by Mentor Parents and counselors, who introduce the abandon children into a life of love and family. Children are given a bilingual education, English and Spanish, it a safe caring environment. Currently the Ranch provides home to about 25 children. This year the hope is to bring in 15 new children to the ranch. Please pray that God prepares each child for this incredible opportunity.
This video gives a brief description of the minstry of Rancho Ebenezer, althought the role of House parents has been replaced with Mentor Parents. Mentor parents live seperate from the children but serve the role of spiritual and emotional nurturers. Day to day care is done by counselors in the home where the kids live.
